it’s a Beautiful World

For me, most days just pass by.

Especially in today’s society, with a heavy focus on consumption- whether it being ads, media or products that we’re told we need, how often do we stop to appreciate the tangible world that is presented before our eyes?

Living with intention is hard. So is photographing. Compared to most other forms of art, even compared to a “rushed” and jazzy expression like an action painting, the act of taking a photograph is instantaneous. This is just the inherent nature of photography. So what does a deliberate photograph look like? Within the 5 billion daily photographs that are taken, and the 3 billion images shared online everyday, what determines a worthy, artistically high value image compared to the everyday photo of a latte?

This series is a constant reminder to myself, to you, and to all that are seemingly uninterested: Hey, it’s a beautiful world. A photograph can be intentional, it can be thought through, and it has many many possibilities even when working with a candid, uncontrolled reality. And if you look hard enough, the world can behave in unseen ways.
